Editorial Policy
Last reviewed: October 2026.
Primary sources first
For regulatory and payment-system claims, FinGuard Insights prefers official regulator registers and warnings, published payment-network rules, European Payments Council documents, legislation, parliamentary/council status pages, provider terms and verifiable transaction records.
Proportional language
We do not label a named business fraudulent, scam, blacklisted or unregulated merely because someone reports a negative experience. Where an official warning exists, we identify the authority and link to the source. Where facts are unresolved, we use proportionate language.
Current law versus proposed law
PSD2 remains the current EU payment-services framework as of October 2026. PSD3 and the Payment Services Regulation have progressed through political agreement but are not described here as already in force.
Commercial independence
Paid distribution or referral relationships must not determine factual conclusions. We do not support cloaking, deceptive redirects, fabricated success statistics or false regulator affiliations.
