THE PROBLEM

A pre-sale can look active: influencer campaigns, partnership announcements, countdowns and a growing community. The critical risk is concentration. If founders control most tokens, treasury keys and initial liquidity, they can have outsized ability to sell into retail-created liquidity.

Anatomy of the mechanism

Map token allocation

Find total supply, founder/team allocation, investor allocation and treasury. Compare the published tokenomics with on-chain distribution where possible.

Verify vesting

A promised lock-up is meaningful only if the mechanism can be checked, such as a vesting contract or transparent custody arrangement.

Check treasury governance

Identify who controls multisig keys, how many signatures are required and whether governance can change key parameters.

Verify partnerships independently

A logo on a project site is not proof of a commercial relationship. Look for confirmation from the named partner.

Watch verified team-wallet movement

Large transfers to exchanges or liquidity removal can be meaningful only when wallet attribution is reliable.
